Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) has been used to treat many ailments for years…a lot of years.  As a matter of fact, Hippocrates, the father of medicine, had used natural, undistilled ACV since the beginning of time in 400 BC to treat his patients.  Throughout biblical times, it has been used to successfully treat infections and wounds with its powerful cleansing and healing properties.  It is a naturally occurring antibiotic and antiseptic that fights germs, bacteria, mold and viruses.

Check out the power of Apple Cider Vinegar:

  • Fights infections from harmful bacteria and fungus
  • Gets rid of poisons in the body
  • Regulates high blood pressure (for some, in just 2 weeks!)
  • Greatly improves digestion
  • Eliminates heartburn
  • Helps eliminate yeast causing candida in gut
  • Clears skin irritations (such as acne and contact dermatitis and eczema)
  • Assists in chronic fatigue
  • Helps relieve constipation
  • Assists in weight control by breaking down fat
  • Helps prevent bladder stones and urinary tract infections
  • Alleviates symptoms of arthritis by dissolving uric acid deposits
  • Helps reduce high cholesterol
  • Normalizes acid levels (pH balance) in stomach

However, you must be careful only to get raw, organic Apple Cider Vinegar with the “Mother.”  The mother is the “floating stuff” inside that is formed from the pectin and apple residue.

Bragg ACVThis holds the powerful enzymes and other live factors that make raw, unpasteurized vinegars so valuable. Traditional  vinegars in the supermarket are “dead” as the enzymes have been killed off and are rendered ineffective for healing uses.   I prefer to use Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar found in health food stores.

It is best to dilute your ACV in warm or hot water, as it can be too acidic to taste and not great for tooth enamel if taken straight.  I enjoy 2 tbsp of ACV with honey and hot water every day.  It makes a great “tea” that is most beneficial before meals.  However, I always use it as part of my oil and vinegar salad dressing and substitute it whenever vinegar is called for in a recipe as well.

You can also use this topically.  It may burn a little at first, but it has been known to clear stubborn eczema in only a few days time.  For acne on the face, be sure to dilute it with a little water first and dab it on with a cotton ball or swab.

Be sure to take 1 tbsp a day of this wonder food and experience these dramatic effects for yourself!
