Your Vision for 2018

It’s time for a New year. However, so many of us have good intentions with resolutions that last for… maybe a few weeks. Do something that you can really take ownership in.

Mahatma Gandhi said“A person is but the product of their thoughts, what they think they become.”

We have so much power to turn our thoughts into actions with so many different ways to do so. Along with power of affirmations, another powerful tool I use is to create vision boards.

Vision boards are quite literally any type of board on which you display images or statements of whatever you want to be, do or have in your life. It can be a poster board, a cork board or whatever you want to use. Most importantly, it should represent how you would like to feel when you achieve whatever you would like.

Why is this so powerful? Vision boards help provide clarity, reinforce your affirmations and help to maintain focus by using the Law of Attraction. Picture what you want, figure out how to get there and it will come.

There are no steadfast rules. However, I like to add well-rounded categories including mind body and spirit. Specific categories I recommend would be:

  • Health: Perhaps you want to lose weight, feel more energized, eat better or tackle health issues.
  • Relationships: Perhaps you want to establish stronger relationships with partners, children, friends and family and even a higher being.
  • Physical Activity: Perhaps you want to start exercising, exercise more frequently, or train for a competition.
  • Career: Perhaps you want to advance in your current position, find a new position altogether, start a new business, or earn a specific dollar amount.
  • Mind: Perhaps you wish to spend more time learning or reading or being more creative.

The next step is to make goals in each of these categories. This may take a while to figure out what will really matters the most to you and you may be surprised. Of course life isn’t just a destination, but a journey. With that in mind, you must map out how you intend to achieve your goals.

Finally, cut out pictures of your goals and desires or how you want to look or feel. This is the real fun part as you will see these pictures every day and imagine yourself in those pictures and letting them be a part of you. Paste them alongside your goals. Be creative. Then, when you complete your vision board, put it in an area that you see every day, several times a day. You need to look at it, read everything until it becomes a part of your subconscious.

Let you vision board be your official road map to achieving whatever it is you want.
