Eight Top Reasons You NEED to Clean Out Your Pipes and How to Detox on Your Own

Spring.  It’s the time of year of revitalization and growth.  But in order to experience this, we need to clean house.

 

You know how good it feels when you clean out a closet or pantry?

 

You throw away things that are no good and can’t use any more and de-clutter. When you’re finished, you can then walk in, see where everything is, and be able to use most of what is left.

 

Guess what?

 

Your body is pretty much the same. When you take out the garbage and de-clutter, your body operates much more efficiently-the way it was meant to.

 

Do your own Spring Cleaning by Detoxing and below are some pretty good reasons to do so:

 

  1. Get those toxins out!

Our bodies ingest toxins every day whether it’s from the food we eat, the air we breathe or chemicals that we touch. Detoxing helps our bodies release toxins.

When our bodies don’t have to constantly be distracted by fending off toxins, it has the time to get to its daily functions to bring the body back to balance.

 

  1. Release weight.

Fat is held into place by toxins. Once toxins are released, the easier it is for the fat to follow. Detoxing also increases the metabolism.

 

  1. Feel more energized.

The more balanced your body, the better your metabolism is and the more efficiently your body will convert food to energy.

 

  1. Alleviate digestive issues.

Gas and bloat can be the result of inflammatory foods that the body cannot digest. Clean out what is not “feeding the body” and nourish it with the proper fuel- and those annoying digestive symptoms can dissipate.

 

  1. Feel happier.

Did you know that your gut (colon) produces serotonin, your happy hormone? When your gut is clogged up, it is more difficult for your body to produce serotonin which can lead to depression and anxiety.

Now we know we should detox, how do we go about doing it?

 

First we need to detox our thoughts.  Our thoughts make us feel a certain way, so the more we shift to positive thoughts, the better we feel.

 

Start your day by writing down 3 things for which you are grateful.  This simple habit will start your day on a positive note that will flow into the rest of your day.  And it is sooooo powerful.

 

Then, we continue with the physical food we put into our bodies and we begin with eating anti-inflammatory foods – REAL food such as:

 

  • Clean, colorful vegetables and fruit
  • Clean proteins-organic chicken, turkey, beef and wild fish…
  • Nuts and seeds-almonds, walnuts, flax seed, sunflower seeds…
  • Wholesome grains-organic oats, quinoa, amaranth, wild rice (NOT wheat-even whole wheat!)

 

Of course, avoid the inflammatory foods

  • Sugar
  • Processed Foods
  • Foods in a box laden with chemicals
  • Wheat
  • Alcohol
  • Soda
