Study Shows These Foods Can Lower Severity of Covid

This latest study published by the BMJ Nutrition, Prevention and Health journal has shown that there is a very impressive way to help lessen severity and duration (whether you choose the vaxx route or not).

About 3,000 healthcare workers over 6 different countries were assessed by the relationship to Cov!d and their diets.  They discovered that plant-based diets were associated with a 73% reduction in the incidence of moderate to severe disease from Cov!d-19, while pescatarian diets were linked to a 59% reduction.

Whoa!  That’s incredible.  Let me point out again that there was a whopping 73% decrease of Cov!d severity from people who ate 3-4 servings of vegetables a day–compared to participants who did not follow those diets.  And then a 59% reduction from people who eat fish.

Very interestingly, though, folks on a keto diet had a higher degree of severity.

Dr. Lindsey Berkson explains:

“70% of our immune system lives in our gut and our gut cells (enterocytes) demand short-chain fatty acids. These come from veggies and some healthy grains, such as quinoa.”

So, it’s all about boosting our immune system and it seems that one of the best ways is to eat more plants.  It appears that our bodies thrive and can defend itself optimally with vegetables.

Real. Food.

That’s what I have been shouting from the rooftops for years.  It all starts with what you feed the body as fuel to help it operate optimally.  And then how that fuel can help the immune system to fight effectively when it comes under attack.

So, while boosting the immune system with real food is nothing new, I’m glad there is now science behind the effectiveness of it with our current situation.

Please, it’s time.  I hope you or your loved ones are now encouraged to enjoy your veggies at every meal.  Veggies can also help you to digest animal protein more effectively, add fiber to aid in elimination, release weight and so much more.

And with the variety of ways to prepare veggies, you will be able to find veggies prepared to please your palate.  Whether it’s blending them as a smoothie, sauteeing, cooking or roasting or air frying or even enjoying them raw with dips and sauces, explore to find your faves.  Your body will thank you.
