What’s the Best Way to Take Back Control (Of Anything!)

We have millions of thoughts every single day that influence our behaviors.  And believe it or not, our bodies listen and then respond to those thoughts.

So, the best way to take back control of your thoughts which then extend to your behaviors, is to know what you can control and what you cannot.

Then, ONLY focus on what you CAN control.

You see, you are where your attention is.  Let me repeat that—you ARE where your ATTENTION is.

If your attention is focused on something you cannot control, not only will you not get any behavior or outcome you desire, it will probably make you feel worse or bring you down.

However, if you focus on what you CAN control, that’s when the magic can happen. You take back those reigns and dictate how you want to look, sound, and feel.

Here is what you CAN control and what you should focus on:

  1. Your thoughts
  2. Your boundaries
  3. Your actions
  4. The outcomes you plan
  5. How you speak to yourself
  6. Where you direct your energy
  7. How you can handle challenges

Here is what is NOT in your control and what you should avoid focusing on:

  1. The past
  2. The actions of others
  3. What happens around you
  4. What people think of you
  5. The opinions of others
  6. How others take care of themselves
